In this role, you will be a Quality Assurance and Configuration Management Engineer. In this role, you will develop and implement the configuration management and quality assurance processes and tools needed by the new venture to comply with certification standards. Once established, you will work with the development teams to ensure successful implementation and compliance.
In the role of Sr. Quality Assurance and Configuration Management Engineer you will:
Work with the development teams to define and implement the configuration management processes and tools needed to meet certification standards and industry best practices
Assist in the development of processes and procedures needed to meet certification standards and industry best practices
Define and implement quality assurance processes and procedures, such as requirements audits, configuration audits, and the corrective action procedures
Oversee the configuration and change control boards
Be responsible for ensuring quality and regulatory compliance in accordance with documented processes and procedures
Develop and deliver configuration management and quality assurance training for leadership and engineers
Put in place methods for sustaining process and training materials
Develop documentation strategy to support audits and Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
Assure correct and complete configuration data and artifacts
Support meetings and audits by external authorities (e.g. FAA, EASA, ISO, NIST, etc.)
Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 5 years of systems or software development experience in an ARP4754, DO-178B/C, or DO-278A environment
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job Desired Characteristics:
Familiarity with DO-326A and supplements to DO-178C
Experience with Industry / Military standards relative to Configuration Management: EIA-649, ISO 10007, MIL-STD-973, DO-178C, etc.
Experience in applying Engineering Standards relative to Engineering Documentation
Strong and demonstrated experience with Product Data Management (PDM) Systems
Solid oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Effective problem identification and solution skills
Demonstrated success in a cross-functional team environment
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
Ability to work well in cross-functional teams
