AT&T Senior Systems Administrator (Government) in Honolulu, Hawaii

You will be a member of an Information Technology Group responsible for Operating, Administering and Maintaining (OA&M) systems supporting the delivery of advanced telecommunications services to the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The IT Group has a core function within AT&T Hawaii Netowrk Services (HNS) and is responsible to ensure that all software and hardware support systems are operational and productive. The groupd is responsible for identifying, tracking and repairing problems within the AT&T HNS Information Technology Network.

SKILLS: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 and preferably 10 years of experience maintaining multiple network management systems related to Fault Management (preferably HP Openview), Trouble Ticketing, and Configuration Management (PCR360) as well as server based element manager. The candidate will be responsible for establishing, supporting and maintaining these support systems with an availability target of 99.999%. Expertise in trouble shooting and working with diverse technologies will be essential.

  • The candidate will also be responsible for the formulation,development and implementation of policies and procedures pertaining to system maintenance, system security as well as providing Tier II level support.

  • The ideal candidate will have a passion for excellence and continual improvement, combined with strong interpersonal skills.

  • They will possess strong customer service and communication skills to ensure customer satisfaction and network reliability.

  • They will have the ability to work independently to accomplish a task but also have the ability to work as part of a team in developing solutions and providing support when working with other members of the IT Group.

EXPERIENCE: 10+ years related experience in telecommunications networking and NOC operations. Experienced in configuration of network devices, such as those listed under the

SKILLS paragraph above is valued. Ability to work in an organized fashion with focus on documenting activity, following procedures, escalating events when needed, compiling reports, and coaching other team members is valued.

EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in Computer Science or a related technology field is desirable but not required for a well experienced candidate. Other evidence of technical accomplishments and/or related experience working as a systems administrator will be acceptable – minimum 10 years.

Required Clearance: Must be a US Citizen and possess an existing Secret Clearance or higher security classification.

Desired: Previous military service or military base/site work experience; Security+ certification; knowledge and experience with SAN (storage area network), Unix/Linux/Solaris, Windows Server O/S, Active Directory, Disaster Recovery, system backups, familiarity with STIGs, along with knowledge of data and voice telecommunications systems.
