Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children is well recognized as Hawai‘i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 207 beds and 66 bassinets, the nonprofit hospital is Hawai‘i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is also a tertiary care, medical teaching and research facility. The Transport Team provides a full spectrum of health care to patients being moved by fixed wing or ground transport from a referring to an facility within the Kapi‘olani network. Our health care professionals are specially trained to handle a variety of needs, including ventilation and respiratory care, and we strive to be the provider of choice for families and other members of the medical community requiring medical transport services.
As the Transport Respiratory Therapist, you will help to provide professional, compassionate respiratory therapy services by functioning as a member of the transport team and assisting the transport nurse and/or physician to achieve safe patient care during interisland air and ground transport. You will provide cardio-respiratory related services and serve as a technical resource on all aspects of respiratory care. Minimum Qualifications: Current Hawai‘i State Respiratory Therapist License. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card. Certified Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist (NPS) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) CPR cards. Successful completion of KMCWC Transport orientation program. Three (3) years respiratory care including two years Neonatal Intensive Care Unit/Pediatric Intensive Care Unit or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field. Preferred Experience: Transport experience.
