We are currently seeking a Marine Mechanic to join our growing team!
To be able to repair and maintain marine services/response equipment. Primarily will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all marine equipment. Ensure that all M&R schedules are adhered to on regular basis. Support NRC’s 24/7/365 operations on emergency response, land service and maritime contracts or projects as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Execution of mechanical maintenance and repair of all marine services and response equipment while under the supervision of the Ops manager.
Safely operate various marine equipment as needed – skimmers, small/large vessels currently in fleet.
Repair and service various marine equipment in the field or during emergency response events.
Work under a compressed time schedule to get repair equipment as needed.
Understand and comply with company and client safety standards.
Trained in the safe operation of all company equipment.
Must follow all purchasing guidelines and obtain multiple quotes when obtaining outside services.
Must be clean shaven at all times to allow for immediate donning of respirator.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Requires High School or GED (or equivalent reading, writing and reasoning skills) and 0-24 months of experience performing directly related work (fire fighting, emergency response, general construction, industrial cleaning).
Qualified employees must be able to complete the 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, 8 hour Hazwoper refresher certificates and any/all other related training that may be required.
Must have valid driver’s license and US passport. Ability to be trained in the operation of large centrifugal pumps, pressure washers (all types, including hydroblasters), Bobcats (small equipment) Backhoes, front end loaders, Trackhoes, scissor lifts, man lifts, vacuum trucks and super suckers.
Must be able to travel and work extended hours including evenings and weekends.
