U.S. Bank Credit Risk Analyst in Honolulu, Hawaii
The Credit Risk Management (CRM) function provides independent oversight of enterprise credit risk management, risk governance and control, and is responsible for establishing credit risk management, strategy, policies and practices. CRM’s primary objective is to support a comprehensive and proactive approach to credit risk management that promotes a strong credit risk management culture. CRM works with the business line and other corporate oversight groups to establish policies, standards, and limits that align with U.S. Bancorp’s credit risk appetite, and monitors and reports on existing and emerging credit risks and compliance with U.S. Bank’s risk appetite.
Specifically, this role will provide credit risk management oversight for the Retail Payment Solutions organization which manages U.S. Bank and co-branded credit card (Consumer and Small Business) products.
Conducts credit analysis which includes gathering, analyzing and interpreting all types of credit card information on existing and prospective customers and portfolios.
Monitors credit card portfolios in order to maximize credit quality and minimize risk and potential loss.
Prepares and delivers presentations to management for use in the making of credit decisions.
Contributes to summary reporting to senior management.
Develops and communicates credit governance, risk and control policies.
Escalates performance issues to management.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, accounting, computer science, economics, finance or statistics, or equivalent work experience.
Strong analytical skills.
Five to Seven years of credit risk analysis experience.
Considerable knowledge of credit risk, financial and statistical analysis.
Proficient in programming and data manipulation using SQL, SAS, and Excel.
Considerable knowledge of credit administration, policies and procedures, and regulatory compliance.
Effective verbal, interpersonal and written communication, presentation, organizational and prioritization skills.
PC proficiency utilizing a variety of software packages including the Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
Experience using key statistical techniques predictive modeling, logistic regression, survival analysis, design of experiments, decision trees, data mining methods, and other advanced statistical techniques.
Effective technical report writing skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance from manager.
